Tanta, sometimes known as the Kind Mother or the Heiress of Talisid, is a goddess of the dominant religion of the sand dwarves.
History[]
Sand dwarves revere Tanta as the creator of the world, and believe that jinn are her divine messengers. In their narrative Tanta went to war against a being known as the Adversary. The Adversary defeated Tanta with an army of monsters, and murdered the elephant goddess. Many scholars believe the Adversary and the Lord of the Wastes are one and the same.
Description[]
Tanta is usually depicted with the head of an elephant, with eyes of gold. She is described as kind and all-forgiving, older than mountains and strong enough to lift the sky. It is said that Tanta wrote her commandments on tablets of stone before she went willingly to her death, claiming to have foreseen her defeat at the hands of the Adversary. Tanta's servants are sometimes depicted bearing flaming swords.
In the Campaign[]
Rexxar, Vantis and Lannus travelled to Tanta's citadel Providence and met one of her servants, an angel named Balthamos.
